The Seychelles Magistrates’ court on Friday remanded five Seychellois citizens arrested following a seizure of 3 kg of compressed cannabis on board an Air Seychelles flight from Johannesburg, South Africa.
All five suspects will appear in court on November 19.
According to the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB), the five Seychellois were arrested by ANB officers in collaboration with Customs Officers in the late Thursday and early Friday.
The Bureau said it arrested a 32-year-old female owner of a wholesale/retail business and a 19-year-old male casual labourer, both from the reclaimed island of Perseverance 2, at the Seychelles International Airport. The suspects were travelling on Air Seychelles Airbus A30, flight HM060 from Johannesburg.
